A Texas Thank you!

Ann's Texas thank you

I have a dream to move to Texas someday and get the heck out of crazy California where the price of everything is outrageous compared to most other states.  My oldest daughter bought me, for my 70th birthday, a 5 day trip to visit my dream!  I bought 2 die sets from Joset Designs for Elizabeth Craft Designs last November and still hadn’t used them.  And, I recently bought the cowgirl hat and boots that were on sale from Spellbinders Inspire line.  The ladder is 1271 – Rustic Ladder,  the feathers are 1272 – Feathers.  The Boots are #IN-053 Cowgirl Stomp and the Hat is #IN-Cowgirl Style.

Step 1:  I used a piece of 6×6″ Designer paper by Ken Oliver for Studio below:

I trimmed each side down a 1/4″ so the base card would show a border which measure 6″ x 6″ folded.

Step 2:  Cut all 3 feathers from white cardstock so you can color them what ever color you want or to match some paper then cut the ladder from off white or cream cardstock and color with Copics:

Cut the Cowgirl had from white cardstock.  Leave the paper in the die and run through your cutting machine again in your embossing mode.  (You’ll really want to do this if you want to color the flower pattern easily with a different color as I did.

Step 3:  Create the base card by cutting a 12 x 12″ piece of in half.  Score one of them at 6″ on the long side and fold.  I used “Dove Grey” Soft Finish Cardstock.  Then stamp your sentiment inside:

I used one of the stamps in the below stamp set from Elizabeth Craft Designs “General Sentiments”:

Step 4:  Adhere your trimmed designer paper to the base card.  Then adhere the ladder, feathers, boots and hat to the front of your card as shown.

That’s it!  Thanks for taking a look.

I have been crafting with paper for several yrs. now. I am a single mother of four grown children (2 boys, 2 girls) and a grandmother of 6 (5 girls and 1 boy). I still work as a hairdresser part time at a beautiful retirement community in San Ramon, CA My passions are: gardening, sewing and crafting with paper while watching my favorite TV shows. I have an amazing dog named Shelby who I just can't imagine life without. I hope, with this blog, that I will inspire, teach, prevent costly mistakes in your journey and well, just have a lot of fun creating.
