The die set that I used to make this birthday card for my beautiful daughter Elizabeth Rose is one of Karen Burniston’s latest releases for Elizabeth Craft Designs. Below is a picture of the set.
This is such a fun die set. It can be used for so many occasions. The pot itself and the mechanism you install inside can be filled with all kinds of shapes and themed dies. Since we’re a couple of weeks away from Halloween, here’s two samples I pulled from Pinterest
I chose this really cute new designer paper by “American Crafts Adult Coloring Collection “Roses”. It’s 12 x 12 double side paper. I love it because you get to color it any color you want. This paper was the inspiration for the project. This daughter works at the same place I do and when she pops into the beauty salon to spend her breaks with me, she is truly the bright spot in my day. So I chose to color only one “Rose” to symbolize that.
The flowers were cut with two polka dot cardstocks from Core’dinations patterned pack by Darice “Neutrals” except the smallest flower (centers) were made by stamping white cardstock first with a little flower stamp and then cut out with the die.
The sentiment inside was computer generated and cut out using another of Karen Burniston’s new release sets called “Labels and Circles”
This set is a new treat I bought myself and I already know I’m going to use it a lot! Each nested shape is either “stitched or pierced”. The pot, red stripe edge and sentiment label was cut from some red cardstock (stash).
Since I had to have this card made quickly I chose to make the front of the folded card simple.
If you are inspired to buy the “Flower Pot pop up” die set and want to start making your own creations with this very versatile set I recommend strongly that you watch this assembly video before you begin your project. It’s by the designer Karen Burniston who simplifies every step for you. Video link: https://youtu.be/o4jstIg3Oi8
Thank you so much for taking a look at my project. Please leave a comment as I read them all. If you have a question I would be happy to answer it.
