My Entry
Last week when I entered this challenge it was my first entry. You can read that entry below under “previous posts”. This challenge site really stresses simplicity. The CAS stands for “Clean and Simple” Last weeks challenge word was “Laugh”. This weeks word is “Doodle”. If you haven’t seen their challenge site, I urge you to do so. It’s unlike any other challenge sites I’ve ever seen. I especially love to read the interpretation of each DT entry because there is a lot of things to learn and notice about these cards that you might not have had you not read these comments. I find it fascinating.
I knew I had this little Easter egg stamp that looked like it was hand drawn or “doodled”. I also had just received, about a week ago, this adorable Pink and Main stamp set called “Bunny Costume.” I stamped and colored with Copics the boy in the bunny costume and then fussy cut him out. I wanted him to be a little raised off the card.
The egg that the little boy in the bunny costume is holding looks, to me, like a painters palette. So that gave me the idea to color it that way and put Chrystal Lacquer on the dots to look like wet paint. This way I could stamp the little doodled eggs and not color them as if they’re still waiting to be painted. The last thing I did was take a #N0 Copic Marker and doodled a little shadow under all the images. The “Happy Easter” sentiment was created on my computer and printed on white cardstock with a “landscape” orientation before I scored folded and trimmed the card to 7″ x 5″. Thanks so much for taking a look!
