This is my entry for Freshly Made Sketches FMS225

FMS225

The above is the sketch that your entry had to comply with.  I just discovered a new stamp company called Krafting’ Kimmie Stamps.  They have some really adorable stamp sets.  I absolutely am addicted to coffee and when I saw this set I had to have it!  I’ll be writing another post showing how I used this same stamp with my newest Elizabeth Craft Designs pop up die set “Cup pop up”.  However, this is how I made this card:

I started with stamping the cute image with my new “Misti” from My Sweet Petunia.  For those who haven’t heard of this stamping tool, the name stands for “most incredible stamping tool invented”.  I have to testify that I believe that it is just what it was named for! Here is a video link from Karen Burniston that demonstrates and talks about this fabulous invention:  https://youtu.be/3nu1FkhWytg   I colored the stamp with Copic markers.  I then used a nested circle die to cut out the image in the shape of a circle.  I decided to use a dark chocolate brown cardstock for the base.  It measures 5.25″ x 7″.  I started with a 8.5″ x 11″ piece and scored it along the 11″ side at 5.5″.  I folded it in half at the score line and then cut it down to the finished size.

The smaller rectangle was made with white cardstock measuring 3″ x 6.75″.  I used the Elizabeth Craft Designs stencil that goes with the Cup pop up die set.  Part of this stencil is coffee beans that allows you to repeat the beans stenciling without any obvious breaks.  I love that!  I then used a pink polka dot cardstock for the other rectangle.  It measures 4″ x 6.75″.  I used double sided adhesive tape and adhered it over the stenciled white cardstock in a position that I thought looked good.  That’s why the stenciled white cardstock doesn’t look as large as it really was.

I then decided where I liked the stamped image and adhered it with double sided adhesive. The sentiment was created on my computer and then cut with a nest rectangle die.  The stamp set includes this sentiment but I chose not to stamp it.  The ECD Cup Pop Up die set includes a die of coffee beans and I added 3 die cut coffee beans on the left end of my sentiment to anchor it.  And that’s all there is to it!.  I hope you enjoyed taking a look and will visit some of my resources for these cute elements that made up this card.

I have been crafting with paper for several yrs. now. I am a single mother of four grown children (2 boys, 2 girls) and a grandmother of 6 (5 girls and 1 boy). I still work as a hairdresser part time at a beautiful retirement community in San Ramon, CA My passions are: gardening, sewing and crafting with paper while watching my favorite TV shows.
